Director- Jacques Demy {1964, 91 min}
Jacques Demy’s 1964 masterpiece is a pop-art opera, or, to borrow the director’s own description, a film in song. This simple romantic tragedy begins in 1957. Guy Foucher (Nino Castelnuovo), a 20-year-old French auto mechanic, has fallen in love with 17-year-old Geneviève Emery (a luminous Catherine Deneuve), an employee in her widowed mother’s chic but financially embattled umbrella shop. PS: Entry’s free!

Delhi Modern: The Architectural Photographs of Madan Mahatta| One of the first exhibitions of contemporary architectural photography in India, this is a display of remarkable works done by Madan Mahatta between the late 1950s and the mid-1980s, which were known to very few at the time they were made and have never ever shown together before. They are not only a landmark in our photographic history, but also possibly the best document of an extremely important and fertile period in our architectural history. Click here to preview the exhibition.
