I can’t see clearly now since the rain has come and based on the weather in the last few months, I am just fine with that! The right song at the right moment just sounds a whole lot better somehow and driving around town in the rain means that there are many moments available for the right song.  Here are a few tracks from the newer releases over the last few months, that I have enjoyed listening to! So in no particular order:

1. Emma – Dirty Vegas | Originally on the Electric Universe album, this track made a come back with Dirty Vegas re-releasing it as an EP with a  few more mixes. Personally, I love the original. Not the kind of track you go mental dancing to but not one that makes you stare blankly at a wall either. Play loud for best results!

2. Everytime we fight –  The Milk | This new band is an explosive pleasure to listen to. Most of the tracks of their debut album have become a hit and they have already done multiple sold out shows across the world. They have a super-cool website too. Check it out.

3. Stay Frosty – Van Halen | They are back and if this track is anything to go by, this come back should be fun. Based on the turmoil in this band over the years though, I wouldn’t count on consistency. Great track anyway.

4. Poison Tree – Moby | Another one we haven’t heard from in a while. Did you know he is in fact related to Herman Melville which is where his name comes from.. Anyhow,  a great track that gets everybody up and moving when there is a lull in the room.

5. Love interruption – Jack white | One of the best guitarists of our generation in my opinion, his first solo studio album called Blunderbuss is out and is well worth listening to. While every song on the album may not be to your liking, Love Interruption is one of the exceptions.

6. Legendary Child – Aerosmith | What can I say… they’re back and they sound just like they did before. I assume there is going to be a lot more from these guys in the coming months.

7. Kill your heroes – Awolnation | A band that was relatively unknown until even a few months ago. Their song SAIL made big waves and brought them into the spotlight.  After many youtube videos using their music and a stellar performance featuring Macy Gray at Coachella, their latest offering too is great fun!

8. Allies – MutemathRock n Roll has come under serious attack from the massive influx of hip-hop and electronic producers. Allies by this great and explosive band reminds you of what it’s like to have the sound of a guitar send ripples through your senses.

9. Always something – Cage the Elephant | This band is awesome to put it simply. If you enjoy The Black Keys, you’re likely to love these guys too. Always Something from their last album is a great track and a great place to being if you want to experiment with the two albums that they have out so far. Also check a video of them doing a rain soaked set at Lollapalooza from last year.

10. On the run – Kaiser chiefs | There is something cool about this song.
