If you thought Delhi’s music scene was restricted to EDM, live rock acts, indie nights, and similar gigs housed in pockets of the usual hangouts—HKV, blueFROG, IHC, and the likes—you’re sadly mistaken; consider chilling on a pleasant spring evening at one of the city’s prominent parks with some of the World’s finest jazz bands, instead.

The 3rd Delhi International Jazz Festival, organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations {ICCR}, is back and features 14 bands from 11 countries this year.

The festival will be held at NehruPark, New Delhi from March 15th – 18th, 2013 and is the largest ever jazz festival in the country, with multiple performances spanning across four days. Held within the lush green environs of the park, with mesmerizing music playing under the stars, this promises to be the Dilliwaala’s retort to all the Montreal, Hyde Park, and Stockholm festivals. The best part: entry is free to public.

Now, in its third year, the festival will feature well-known names such as New Bone Quintet Band from Poland, Sindi & Mimi from South Africa, Ararat from Israel, Sachal Vasandani from the USA, Imany from France, Malcom Braff Trio from Switzerland, and Indian bands such as Louiz Banks, Dhruv Ghanekar, Toshanbar and Radha Thomas ensemble.
